ILLUSTRATION PROCESS
1. Brainstorming
At TullipStudio, we start by reading your story and picking out the key scenes and characters. Then, we bounce around ideas. How things should look, what details to add, and how to capture the right mood.
We sketch rough concepts based on your vision (and any special notes you give us). Once we’ve got a fun direction, we share the sketches with you before moving on to the final art.
It’s all about teamwork, creativity, and making your story shine!
2. Sketching
After brainstorming, we bring your story to life with clear, detailed sketches. Each scene is carefully planned out to show the characters, layout, and overall feel of the page.
We pay close attention to expressions, poses, and the little details that make your book special. This stage helps set the foundation for the final look.
Once the sketches are ready, we share them with you for feedback. You can suggest changes before we move on to the exciting part. Yes, adding color!
3. Coloring
Once the sketches are approved, we jump into adding color to bring your illustrations to life. We choose colors that fit the mood of your story and make the characters and scenes pop.
We carefully paint in every detail including shadows, highlights, and textures to give your book that rich, finished look. This step really makes the artwork vibrant and exciting.
After coloring, we send you the pages to review. If you want any tweaks, like changing a color or adding little touches, we’re happy to make adjustments before finalizing everything!
4. Finalizing
After the coloring is approved, we move on to the final touches. This means adding more details, polishing the artwork, and making sure everything looks clean and complete. We double-check each page to make sure the illustrations are just right.
Next, we add the text to your pages. We carefully place each line so it fits nicely with the artwork and is easy to read. We also choose fonts and styles that match the feel of your story.
Once everything is in place, we format the book to make sure it meets the technical requirements for printing. This step gets your book ready to be published and shared with the world.
