WHY DO YOU NEED A CHILDREN'S BOOK TEMPLATE?

A book map, or a children’s book template, is a kind of blueprint, a visual plan of the book layout, text placement, story pacing, and illustrations. This is really helpful for aspiring authors and used by professional authors as well for crafting their books.

Using a children’s book template ensures the story on each page moves forward and catches the reader’s curiosity to keep them reading.

Creating a children’s book template is important, even if you are planning to publish through a traditional publishing company, a children’s book agent, or self-publishing.

IMPORTANT THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT PAGE COUNT

The standard picture book page counts are 24, 32, or 40 pages, including additional pages like opening, copyright, etc. If you publish through a traditional publishing company, the standard is 32 pages.

If you are self-publishing the book, you can decide your own page count by choosing the available choices from a self-publishing company. The popular page counts for self-publishing are 24, 32, and 40.

The two biggest self-publishing companies are Amazon KDP and IngramSpark. All three options (24, 32, 40) are approved by those self-publishing companies, even other popular companies such as Lulu or Barnes & Noble.
